Bach by Bike

Neben ihrer Tätigkeit als Konzert-und Opernsängerin ist Anna-Luise Oppelt gemeinsam mit der Violinistin Mareike Neumann Initiatorin des Johann Sebastian Bach Radwegs sowie Gründerin und Tourenleiterin von Bach by Bike, musikalischen Radtouren entlang der Lebensorte Bachs in Thüringen, Sachsen-Anhalt und Sachsen.

Gemeinsam mit der langjährigen Tourenleiterin und Harfenistin Helene Schütz haben Anna-Luise Oppelt und Mareike Neumann das Bach by Bike Ensemble gegründet, bestehend aus der Basis-Besetzung Mezzosopran, Violine und Harfe. Das Ensemble widmet sich den Werken Bachs und seines Umfelds und ist offen für Konzerte an ungewöhnlichen Orten, wo möglich in Verbindung mit Radtouren.

2021 gewann Bach by Bike den internationalen Music Cities Award in der Kategorei “Best Use of Music to Drive Tourism”. 2022 ist Bach by Bike mit dem OPUS KLASSIK Innovationspreis für Nachhaltigkeit ausgezeichnet worden.

Aside from her career as a concert- and opera singer, Anna-Luise Oppelt is in a team with violinist Mareike Neumann founder and tour guide of Bach by Bike, musical bike tours along Bach´s places of life in Thuringia, Saxonia and Saxonia-Anhalt. The Bach by Bike Ensemble consists of Anna-Luise, Mareike and their tour guide Helene Schütz, harp, who studied together at the Music University of Detmold. The cast is expanded depending on the repertoire. The ensemble´s programs focus on Bach and his surroundings, opening up to music of the romantic era and contemporary works. We are interested in concerts on innovative places, if possible in connection with cycling.

In 2021, Bach by Bike has won the categoy “Best Use of Music to Drive Tourism” of the International Music Cities Awards. In 2022, Bach by Bike was awarded with the OPUS KLASSIK in the category “Innovation award for sustainability”.
